What Specifications Should You Provide for a Forklift Quote?

The exact checklist of information a supplier needs to quote accurately - load, lift, aisle, battery, environment and destination - so your first quotation is already right.

Load Information

  • Heaviest regular load weight (not average)
  • Load center / pallet size (e.g., 1,000 x 1,200 mm)
  • Load type: palletized, boxed, drums, long materials

Lift and Racking

  • Top beam / shelf height the forks must reach
  • Lowest doorway or mezzanine the truck must pass under
  • Whether you stack inside containers (needs free lift)

Aisle and Floor

  • Clear aisle width between rack faces
  • Floor type: concrete, epoxy, outdoor yard
  • Ramps or dock plates (state gradient if known)

Duty Cycle and Battery

  • Shifts per day and hours per shift
  • Battery preference if any (lithium / lead-acid / unsure)
  • Available charging voltage at your site

Purchase and Delivery

  • Quantity and target delivery date
  • Destination port or city
  • OEM branding needs and spare-parts package
